WHEN YOU LEARN YOU LITERALLY BUILD UP YOUR BRAIN
MAKING IT SMARTER AND STRONGER
Hi Guys!
During our last Brainology® class we shared* some personal and real experiences from our own lives. Each of us remembered a time in his or her own life when we worked really hard on something that was at first difficult, but after practice and effort we were able to succeed*.
A girl told us that thanks to practice and exercise through time* she’s obtained a good mastery in horse-riding. She couldn’t even dream of it when she started as a beginner*!
A similar experience was told by a boy about skateboarding. As a beginner he could barely keep his balance* on the board, but after hours of exercise (and probably some falls too…), he can now do tricks and moves he couldn’t do when he started skateboarding.
Cooking pizza, writing properly and neatly, learning times tables*, playing volleyball or tennis were among other skills some of us improved*, thanks to exercise and practice through time*.
All of us told that we felt proud* of ourselves when we were successful.
We also agreed that the success we obtained was worth the effort* (time, setbacks* and sometimes criticism from others included…)
We also talked about values.
Values are important beliefs* we have as members of a culture.
Here are some of the values we reflected on: Self-respect, Thankfulness, Pride, Bravery, Neatness, Wisdom, Knowledge…
Which of the values we talked about are important to you?
Select 5-10 values and write them down in your Brainology Journal.
We'll talk about them next week.
And remember… values are beliefs, and beliefs lead* our behavior*, that is to say what we do!
So… good work!
